The Hotel Limpia - Location

At the current time, only Alpine and Marfa have municipal airports. There is no commercial air service into either town, although there are auto rentals at both if you fly in yourself (Alpine 432-837-3009; Marfa 432-729-3102).

The nearest commercial airport is Midland International Airport (170 miles away) where American Eagle, Continental, Southwest, and United Express Airlines are the scheduled carriers. El Paso International Airport is the second closest at 200 miles away; most major airlines schedule flights here.

There is an Amtrak stop located in Alpine, along with scheduled bus service to and from Alpine (432-837-5302).

Driving here from El Paso: Take I-10 east to Van Horn (119 miles). From Van Horn take Highway 90 south to Valentine (43 miles). Continue on past Valentine for about 7 miles, the turn left on Highway 505. Take this road till you come to Highway 166 (about 6-7 miles) and turn east (right) onto this road. Follow it through some fantastic Davis Mountains ranch country until it joins Highway 17 about 2 miles south of Fort Davis.

Driving here from Midland/Odessa: Take I-20 west to Pecos (76 miles). At Pecos, take Highway 17 south to I-10 (34 miles). Take I -10 west for 2 miles until you come to Balmorhea. Take Highway 17 south to Fort Davis (37 miles).

Driving here on I-10 from cities such as Austin, San Antonio, Kerrville, Fredericksburg, San Marcos, etc: Take I-10 west until you get to Balmorhea. Take Highway 17 south to Fort Davis, (37 miles).

Getting here from Alpine: Take Highway 118 north out of town for 23 miles. This will lead you directly to Fort Davis.

Getting here from Marfa: Take Highway 17 north out of town for 21 miles. This will lead you directly to Fort Davis.

Built in 1912, The Hotel Limpia is a restored historic hotel located in the Davis Mountains of southwest Texas in mile-high Fort Davis.
